On September 28, Karan Armstrong, a nationally and internationally highly esteemed singer and vocal coach, passed away. Karan Armstrong made opera history as a “diva of the modern age”, but also in the great operas of Wagner, Puccini and Strauss. Her Elsa in her husband Götz Friedrich’s production of Lohengrin at the Bayreuth Festival remains unforgotten.
