With regret Anna Netrebko finds herself forced to cancel the two „Lohengrin“ performances on 14th and 18th of August 2019 due to exhaustion. Although her voice has not been affected, she follows urgent medical advice for a three-week break in order to be able to regenerate completely.

The festival management has succeeded in winning Annette Dasch as Elsa for the performances of „Lohengrin“ on 14th and 18th of August 2019. Annette Dasch has sung Elsa in the production of Hans Neuenfels very successfully from 2010 to 2013 and 2015 at the Bayreuth Festival. She jumped in as Elsa at short notice in the performance on 29th of July 2019.

In the „Lohengrin“ performance on the 7th of August 2019 the sick Tomasz Konieczny will be replaced by Thomas J. Mayer as Telramund, who sang this role at the Bayreuth Festival from 2012 to 2014.
