We are deeply saddened by the death of the truly unique artist Hermann Nitsch. His lifelong dream came true last year with the much-acclaimed painting action of the “Walküre” at our Festival. The decisive founder of Viennese Actionism and most versatile contemporary actionist, painter, graphic artist, composer and stage designer captivated us all, always in a good mood, curious, wide awake and simply lovable. We will keep Hermann Nitsch in grateful memory and his work in honor.
