Oksana Lyniv received this year’s special prize of the Bavarian Culture Prize yesterday!

Arts Minister Markus Blume described Lyniv as a ‘conductor in a class of her own, a musical pioneer and an inspiring bridge builder’. Oksana Lyniv was the first woman to conduct at the Bayreuth Festival. She has often performed in Bavaria – not only in Bayreuth, but also with the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra and at the Bavarian State Opera. Blume also honoured Lyniv’s work for Ukrainian culture, in particular for the LvivMozArt festival and the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine. Oksana Lyniv received her musical training in Lviv and Dresden. The Bavarian Culture Prize is awarded for outstanding achievements by artists, cultural workers and young scientists. We warmly congratulate Oksana Lyniv!
