Simone Young was honoured as best conductor at the International Opera Awards. The Australian, known for her Wagner interpretations, has been Chief Conductor of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra since 2022. Simone Young was the first woman in the history of the Bayreuth Festival to conduct the Ring des Nibelungen in 2024. Congratulations and we look forward to her conducting the Ring at Bayreuth in 2025!
