Julia Grüter
Soprano Julia Grüter, who comes from North Rhine-Westphalia, first studied school music with Sabine Toliver as her main subject. She then completed her vocal studies with Dr. Zelotes Edmund Toliver at the Musikhochschule Münster with an opera certificate and top grades. She continues to work closely with both teachers to this day. In addition, master classes with Brigitte Fassbaender and Mireille Delunsch, among others, supplemented her training.
After her first engagement at the Kammeroper Hamburg, she became a member of the Upper Austrian Opera Studio of the Landestheater Linz in 2016. There she performed roles such as Ottilie (Im weißen Rössl), Harey (Solaris), Clarice (Die Welt auf dem Monde), Lena (Leonce und Lena) and Rosinda (La Rosinda).
Since the 2018/19 season, Julia Grüter has been a permanent ensemble member of the Staatstheater Nürnberg. There she has been involved in numerous productions, such as Romilda (Xerxes) and Gretel (Hansel and Gretel), Voice from Heaven (Don Carlo), Poussette (Manon), Lucia (The Rape of Lucretia), as well as Euridice (L'Orfeo by Monteverdi) and Fiordiligi (Cosí fan tutte). In La Calisto, she sang the title role in 2020. In 2021/22 Julia Grüter made her debut in Nuremberg with three major professional roles: Micaëla (Carmen), Mélisande (Pelléas et Mélisande) and Sophie (Der Rosenkavalier). She made another role and house debut as Zdenka (Arabella) at the Aaltotheater Essen.
In 2022/23 she convinced again in Nuremberg in a title role of the baroque opera Talestri, furthermore her debut as Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro) is coming up.
Numerous concerts have taken the soprano throughout Europe, including appearances with the WDR Funkhaus Orchestra, the Nuremberg State Philharmonic, the Linz Bruckner Orchestra and the Orchestra della Svizzera italiana in Lugano. In 2023, the program will include Beethoven's 9th Symphony, Mahler's 4th Symphony, and the Brahms Requiem.
Julia Grüter is second prize winner of the 2015 Ratingen International Liedduo Competition and was a scholarship recipient of the Dortmund Richard Wagner Association. In 2017 she was convincing at the Linz Operetta Competition and was awarded both 1st prize and the audience prize. At the 70th ARD International Singing Competition 2021 she won a third prize.
