Karin Jud
Karin Jud was born in Zurich and studied fashion design at Hochschule für Gestaltung und Kunst in Basel from 2000 to 2004. From 2004 to 2007 she worked as costume assistant at Zurich Schauspielhaus and Opera and collaborated with directors such as Jan Bosse, Barbara Frey, Jürgen Gosch, Rudi Häusermann, Leiser/Caurier and Jürgen Flimm. She created costume designs for Schauspielhaus Zurich, e.g. for productions by David Unseld, Luise Helle, Schorsch Kamerun and Matthias Hartmann.
Since 2007 she has been a freelance costume designer, among others for Theater Augsburg, Bayerisches Staatsschauspiel Munich, Schauspiel Hannover, Schauspielhaus Graz, Staatstheater Mainz, Volkstheater Wien, Semperoper Dresden and Deutschen Schauspielhaus Hamburg. At the latter, she collaborated on the world premiere of Das Ding by Philipp Löhle, directed by Jan Philipp Gloger. The production won the Audience’s Choice Award at the festival Mülheimer Theatertage 2012. In 2013, she designed the costumes amongst others for Mozart's Idomeneo at Oper Frankfurt, Gounod's Faust at Opernhaus Zürich and 2014 for Verdi's Simon Boccanegra at Semperoper Dresden.
She has worked with directors such as Ingo Berk, Meret Matter, Jan Stephan Schmieding and Barbara-David Brüesch. Since 2007 she has continuously and repeatedly collaborated with Jan Philipp Gloger.
