Invoices for tickets to the Bayreuth Festival 2019
Tannhäuser 2019
A new production of Richard Wagner’s “Tannhäuser und der Sängerkrieg auf Wartburg” will open the 108th edition of the Bayreuth Festival on 25 July 2019. “Tannhäuser” will be conducted by Valery Gergiev, marking Mr. Gergievs debut in Bayreuth. Tobias Kratzer directs, with stage and costume designs by Rainer Sellmaier.
Printing Festival tickets
Due to technical and organizational reasons, in connection with the second online immediate procurement on the 4th of July 2018, access to customer accounts is suspended at short notice. From Monday, the 9th of July, it will be possible to personalize and print tickets for the Bayreuth Festival again.
Piotr Beczala to sing title role in this year’s production of Lohengrin
Polish star tenor Piotr Beczała will sing the role of Lohengrin in this years opening production of the Bayreuth Festival. Piotr Beczała is regularly invited to sing on all important opera houses worldwide. 2016 he made his highly successful debut as Lohengrin in Dresden under Christian Thielemann.
Roberto Alagna cancels
Roberto Alagna will not be singing the role of Lohengrin in the Bayreuth Festival’s new production of the opera of the same name.
Festival Tickets – further online immediate purchase
As in the previous year, there will be a further online immediate purchase of festival tickets in 2018. It starts on 4 July 2018 at 6 pm (UTC+2).
Dispatch of tickets / Ticket printing
Preparations for the dispatch of tickets for the Bayreuth Festival 2018 are in full swing. The tickets of our visitors from abroad have already been sent. The delivery time depends on the respective country.
Online tickets can be printed out on our homepage until seven days before the performance at the latest in your verified customer account under “My Festival”

The Bayreuth Festival starts its 2018 edition with a world premiere. As part of the “Bayreuth Discourse”, the new opera “der verschwundene hochzeiter” by renowned Austrian composer Klaus Lang will be performed for the first time on 24 July 2018.
