The Bayreuth Festival is one of the most famous music theater festivals in the world. It has existed for more than 140 years and takes place every summer exclusively with performances of Richard Wagner’s works. They employ 65 people all year round and up to 800 during the festival. The city of Bayreuth and the region of Upper Franconia offer a high quality of life in a beautiful landscape with a high recreational value.
The Choir of the Bayreuth Festival GmbH (choir director Thomas Eitler-de Lint) is looking for
Choir singers (m/f/d) in all voice groups
for the 2025 festival.
Rehearsal period: mid June – 24.07.2025
Performances: 25.07.-26.08.2025
- Completed university degree (singing) or equivalent qualification
- Good command of the German language
- Experience as a choral singer in opera houses and/or broadcast choirs desired
- Choral singers in the Festival Choir must have studied the repertoire to be performed in the 2025 Festival season by heart by the start of the rehearsal period (mid-June)
- Auditions are planned in the following German and European cities during the winter and spring months:Leipzig, Rhine/Ruhr region, Vienna, Prague, Amsterdam, Lyon, Copenhagen, Helsinki, Madrid
- Please let us know in your application which of these locations would be most suitable for you for an audition. There is no entitlement to consideration.
- An invitation to audition will be issued after a detailed aptitude test based on the documents submitted. The audition program will be announced in the course of the invitation.
Severely disabled applicants will be given preference if their suitability and qualifications are otherwise essentially the same.
